How do you make your profile pictures private on Facebook?

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin in profile pictures | 3 Comments »

I have noticed recently that just because someone’s profile is private, doesn’t mean their profile pictures are. Are there any settings to change this?

Your cannot make your profile pic private on Facebook – this is as Dec 15th 2009.

In fact there is a set of information that will always be public and cannot be made private.

Enough content, on you so anyone can create a page about you that contains your name, profile picture, gender, current city, networks, friend list, and Pages.

People don’t like this and have created protests against it to express to Facebook
their dislike. One group that is very good at explaining what is happening is
the one called "The New Facebook is an Invasion of Privacy! Learn, Protect and Protest!"

You can change your profile pictures folder to private; however, this won’t affect your current profile pic–with the new security settings, it remains public no matter what. The only thing you can do is add a dummy main profile pic and write in and complain (either with their feedback or on the facebook fan page).
