You might be able to look better in your pictures – write down what looks bad in pictures and try to find ways to make them better. Things I’ve seen in other people’s pics:
1) Bags under the eyes or other lines – use soft, diffuse light for pictures – indoors, evenings, that sort of thing
2) Double or weak chin – look at different angles in the mirror, practice stretching your neck out and finding an angle or accessory to help define your chin (necklace, scarf, turtleneck)
3) Small eyes – makeup, practice keeping them very wide for pics
4) Flat face – a new haircut.

Pick one feature on your face to highlight with makeup or haircut – people will focus on that in the picture. Watch some America’s Next Top Model – Tyra and the photographers are usually pretty good at giving constructive criticism, and the makeovers show you some possibilities. And you can watch the models practicing, and try it for yourself.
