Why am I hot in person and ugly in pictures?
When I meet guys in person they look at me, smile, talk to me, and some have even told me I’m hot. But I look ugly in every picture ever. It doesn’t matter what the angle is, or what the lighting is like, or what kind of face I’m making. I always look horrible, even in professional photographs. Why is this? Can I learn how to look good in pictures?

I really doubt you look ugly in pictures if you were told you were hot. Also if your hot face to face it don’t matter what the pics look like. hope i helped

Probably because it’s you judging yourself in the pictures. I think I personally take horrible pictures but some people tell me they arn’t bad. Ask someone else what they think of the picture you think is ugly.

Wow, I finally met someone else who has the same problem! Me too! Guys look at me all the time, I get good looking guys. But I hate how I look in pictures! Why is that? I can’t figure that out. I run and hide when anyone takes a camera out.

Maybe your just not photogenic or its all in your mind that you think you don’t look good but you probably do.

I’m the exact same way. Either you’re just not photogenic, or you’re not being yourself in the pictures. You’re generally happier in person, and so your smile is probably going to be more real. In pictures, your smile is fake so it’s less attractive. It’s just one of those things that you can’t do a whole lot about.

do they say you look ugly? or u say that about your own pictures? but i think making kissing face looks good on most people. i do it all the time. im kind of tired doing it so i stopped. but you could try it. it can be more attracting to guys

Maybe you are more critical than they are. Or maybe you have a smokin body and a so-so face, and it only show up in pics, because you can;t see your body well.

some people are photogenic and others arent. dont mind it too much though, i mean it’s not like your photo is impressing the guy…i’m pretty sure they’d want the real life version.
just be confident in yourself and you’ll shine regardless.

I have the same problem I hate every picture I have ever taken. I look fat in pics but I only weigh 106 pounds?? I looks about 30 pounds heavier. I don’t get it. And my face looks rounder. Im not round anywhere. Makes you wonder.

I’m the same way, no, all my pictures are crap, and you can’t change it, don’t worry about it. I always think it’s cute how girls hate their pictures when they are just fine. Also, you shouldn’t care what other people think of you

I personally think you are judging yourself more when you are looking at pictures and also, this happens to me, i personally think it IS the lighting because that is what happens to me all the time! Don’t worry i am with you, i look hot in person and i personally think i don’t look that good in pictures

One thing pictures do is flatten your features. The best models look almost weird in real life – like their features (cheekbones, lips, eyes) are exaggerated.
You might be able to look better in your pictures – write down what looks bad in pictures and try to find ways to make them better. Things I’ve seen in other people’s pics:
1) Bags under the eyes or other lines – use soft, diffuse light for pictures – indoors, evenings, that sort of thing
2) Double or weak chin – look at different angles in the mirror, practice stretching your neck out and finding an angle or accessory to help define your chin (necklace, scarf, turtleneck)
3) Small eyes – makeup, practice keeping them very wide for pics
4) Flat face – a new haircut.
Pick one feature on your face to highlight with makeup or haircut – people will focus on that in the picture. Watch some America’s Next Top Model – Tyra and the photographers are usually pretty good at giving constructive criticism, and the makeovers show you some possibilities. And you can watch the models practicing, and try it for yourself.

Go to a professional photographer , he would take your pictures in such way that they are prettier than what you are.
