Coloring hand drawn pictures on GIMP?

I have GIMP (2.0 version or something, the newest version) and for the longest time I’ve been searching for a tutorial that actually takes me through step by step to show me how to clean up my line art and color it using layers. Most of the tutorials I find are for photoshop (or something else I can’t understand) or are way to complicted. Does anybody know of some website that gives noncomplicated tutorials who only know how to use GIMP on a very amateur level.
