How do you get those cartoon pictures of yourself for the profile?
For a cartoon avatar, create it here:http://avatar.yahoo.com and remember to SAVE it. There are thousands of choices of faces, hair, clothing, backgrounds.Select the picture (avatar), Click ‘use picture’, then Save and Exit. There are many choices to be made, but remember to save your final choice.
For a custom avatar, including pictures or others start here: http://profile.yahoo.com
… Download JPG image(s) and save to your computer
… Select the image you want to use, using Browse for files/.
Yahoo has set tight restrictions on the size of files allowed, both in pixels and dimensions, so you may have to re-size any images (.jpg files) before they are allowed. Your first attempt will show you the limits. (Be certain any photo is brightly lit, and a close-up.)
Return to the Yahoo Answers site: http://answers.yahoo.com
To activate this avatar on YA site: left click, in order:
… your current avatar or YA name
… ‘Edit My Info’ next to your avatar.
… browse and select which avatar you want to use.
… ‘Preview’ (bottom),
… then OK.
OR for Messenger:
… your current avatar or name
… select ‘Share my Picture’’ next to your avatar.
… click the suggested pictures box
… browse your files
… highlight and open the file
… then OK.
P.S.: Mine shows up in the main Messenger program, because I used Messenger tab > My Display Image > Share My Avatar. You could also use a picture here.
